What is VAE?
Vacuum-assisted excision is a non-surgical procedure that can be used to remove benign lesions and biopsy/remove B3 lesions in the breast. Over the past decade, it has become an established and trusted technique in many countries, including the UK, Netherlands, Spain, the US and Canada.
VAE offers a modern, minimally invasive alternative to traditional open surgery for selected breast lesions. By combining precision, patient comfort, and cost-efficiency, the technique has reshaped how many breast centers manage diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. As healthcare systems increasingly prioritize effectiveness, safety, and patient experience, VAE stands out as a procedure that aligns with all three.
